Build a Ronin CLI
This guide demonstrates how to build a Ronin CLI (command-line tool) and compile the node binary on your own instead of using a packed binary from Docker. With the CLI tool, you can install the Ronin node and configure it as a non-validator node (default), validator node, or archive node.
Prerequisites
To build the Ronin CLI, you need to install the following dependencies:
- Golang 1.20 or later (follow the instructions at https://go.dev/doc/install)
- C compiler
1. Build locally
- Clone the Ronin repository: - git clone git@github.com:axieinfinity/ronin.git
- Go to the - ronindirectory:- cd ronin
- Build the binary: - make ronin- This command creates a - roninbinary inside the- .build/bindirectory.
- To run the binary without specifying the binary location in each command, make sure to add the Ronin binary path in the - $PATHenvironment variable.- export PATH=$PATH:/path/to/ronin- If run from the - ronindirectory, then the command is as follows:- export PATH=$PATH:./build/bin/ronin
2. Initialize the genesis block
Initialize the genesis block to set up the origin state of the chain. The genesis files are located in the repository's genesis directory, and include the path where you store the node's data—for example, /ronin/data.
ronin init genesis/mainnet.json --datadir /ronin/data
Whenever you build or upgrade a node that includes a new hardfork, you must initialize the genesis block by running this command.
3. Start the node
Run the following command to start a full (non-validator) Ronin node on the mainnet:
ronin --networkid 2020 \
--bootnodes enode://cfa5f00c55eba79f359c9d95f5c0b2bb8e173867ffbb6e212c6799a52918502519e56650970e34caf1cd17418d4da46c3243588578886c3b4f8c42d1934bf108@104.198.242.88:30303,enode://f500391c41906a1dae249df084a3d1659fe602db671730b2778316114a5f7df44a0c6864a8dfffdc380fc81c6965dd911338e0e2591eb78a506857015d166250@34.135.18.26:30303,enode://fc7b8ceafe16e6f79ab2da3e73d0a3163d0c28efe0778863102f8f27758986fe28c1540a9a0bbdff29ab93ad1c5803462efe6c98165bbb404d9d099a55f1d2c9@130.211.208.201:30303 \
--datadir /ronin/data \

--http --http.corsdomain '*' --http.addr 0.0.0.0 --http.port 8545 --http.vhosts '*' \
--ws --ws.addr 0.0.0.0 --ws.port 8546 --ws.origins '*'
